2XU ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH AMERICA’S CUP CHALLENGER SOFTBANK TEAM JAPAN

2XU are proud to join forces with Softbank Team Japan in their bid to win the America’s Cup – announcing ahead of the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series Event in Bermuda this week.
“I am thrilled that 2XU has chosen to partner with Softbank Team Japan in our quest to win the Americas Cup,” said CEO and Skipper Dean Barker. “The increased physical demands to race the new foiling catamarans will put an even greater emphasis on the performance of the sailors, and being able to rely on the expertise and experience of the 2XU team to deliver technical clothing for both training and racing will allow us to perform at the highest level.”
Applying its extensive high performance credentials to a new sport, 2XU unveils the partnership with the team in the lead up to the launch of 2XU new sailing collection, set to land early in 2016.

2XU founder, Aidan Clarke, commented that the new America’s Cup foiling catamarans offer the perfect platform for accelerated performance – which 2XU is all about. “We are delighted to partner with Softbank Team Japan, to help equip the guys for success. We look forward to sharing our innovations in compression and our new 2XU performance sailing collection with the team, to see them across the line at the America’s Cup,” Clarke said.
With competition kicking off at the Louis Vuitton America’s World Cup Series in Bermuda from October 17 to 18, Softbank Team Japan will be one of six teams racing to accumulate points for later stages of the Cup. The event promises to be one of the highlights of the sailing calendar.
