Australian Football League
The Australian Football League (AFL) is the highest-level professional competition in the sport of AFL and as Australia’s leading high performance athletic apparel brand 2XU is the League’s official compression supplier for the next 3 year. The three year agreement will commence in November 2015, and will specifically involve 2XU outfitting the NAB AFL Draft Combine rising star program to develop future generations of AFL stars. 2XU will supply all NAB AFL Draft Combine participants with on and off-field compression apparel during its 4-day testing camp held at Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium, to help them optimize their performance with the world’s most advanced compression design.
Originally comprising only teams based in the Australian state of Victoria, the competition's name was changed to the Australian Football League for the 1990 season, after expanding to other states throughout the 1980s. The league currently consists of 18 teams spread over five of Australia's six states with matches have been played in all mainland states and territories of Australia. The AFL season currently consists of a preseason competition followed by a 23-round regular season, which runs from March to September. The top eight teams then play off in a four-round final series cumulating in the AFL Grand Final at the MCG.
