2XU’s Leon Griffin comes in fighting 2nd at Timberman 70.3

2XU Champion Triathlete, Leon Griffin raced in the momentous IRONMAN 70.3 Timberman triathlon in Gilford, New Hampshire USA, over the weekend. In top form, Griffin was a formidable competitor, who performed at high-speed throughout, and took out second place.

The IRONMAN 70.3 Timberman (swim 1.2 miles, bike 56 miles, run 13.1 miles) is part of a weekend long family festival that first began in the year 2000, an attempt to bring a little health and fitness spirit to the New Hampshire community. 12 years later, the event has grown into an annual celebration, and has elite triathletes from all over the world participating.

Our gun athlete fought hard for the win with a solid run in the final leg, however American Andy Potts came away with the gold, as Griffin was over the line 90 seconds later in an impressive 3:54:53, and Drietz Andreas from Germany took third position.

Leon is now taking some time to recover, before heading to Vegas for the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship on Sept 8.

Congrats Leon!
