United States Marine and Team X-T.R.E.M.E. Wounded Warrior Athlete, Sgt. Jonathan Mozingo is a recent recipient of the XTREME DREAMS program. An inspired Mozingo has donned the gas mask and joined the mission of Team X-‐T.R.E.M.E. as a symbol of encouragement and inspiration for his fellow wounded brethren. “You have to set a goal, find an obstacle and get over it. To accomplish that goal is rewarding and it gives guys hope for something more,” states Mozingo.

His vehicle was hit by a roadside improvised explosive device (IED) causing the loss of his left arm above the elbow and left leg above the knee.

Similar to the mission of Team X-‐T.R.E.M.E., The Spartan Race Hero Heat is designed to honor, empower and motivate wounded veterans to push beyond physical and mental obstacles through teamwork and perseverance. Team X-‐T.R.E.M.E. and their Warrior Athletes will don the gas mask on Saturday and Sunday to lead the assault into the Hero Heat. Spartan Race participants and Team X-T.R.E.M.E. welcome wounded warriors from across the nation to join them as they swim, crawl, walk, run, climb and even carry one another across the 8-mile Super Spartan course.
