2XU's Co-Founder/Director and Head of Product Development Jamie Hunt lined up for his very first IRONMAN (IM) World Championship (Kona, Hawaii) yesterday.  The 40 year old former World Champion duathlete and Co-Founder/Director of 2XU crossed the finish line in an impressive 9:40:26; 16th in his Age Group!  Here's Jamie's official race report -

Well its all done and dusted.  Had I written this a few days ago, I think having done a 9.40 would have been a disappointing result, but I'm more than satisfied.

I could never have dreamed just how hard this race is.  Yesterday ended up being one of the hottest on record, and windy as well - something we had not seen the whole week prior.

I had a good swim, and rode really well up towards the front of the Age Group race pack until the 140km mark when my wheels basically fell out. It's amazing how you can go from feeling strong one minute, then like death warmed up the next. I struggled the rest of the way to the finish line!

All in all, I'm proud of myself for getting through the run on very tired legs.  I can now tick off the Hawaii Ironman, and back to normality.

My close friend, accomplished Hawaii Ironman triathlete and 2XU Ambassador Cameron Brown unfortunately didn’t make the start line due to a virus.  Our fellow training buddy Josh Rix had a tough day in the Mens Pro race, coming home in 9.58.  He will be back.

Three of our top 2XU Ambassadors claimed a place in the Pros top five. 

This has been an experience I will never forget.  Thank you for all the emails of support - they came in from all over the world.  I've loved being able to share the experience with you.
