2XU's Cam Brown in training mode, ready for Kona
The countdown is on for the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii in October, and 2XU cannot wait to see Ironman champ, Cam Brown, take on the most famous IM course of them all. Cam gave us an insight into how his preparation is shaping up.
Well I have been in Boulder, Colorado for a week now and I'm slowly getting use to the Altitude. I will be here for another 8 weeks before I head to Kona, Hawaii for the final 2 weeks of preparation before the Ironman World Championships on October 13th. The training here is fantastic especially the riding with some stunning scenery as well as some big mountains to climb. Boulder is at 1560m (5500 feet) and you can climb up to 9000-10,000 feet along the peak to peak highway or even higher if you wish. I have no more racing leading into Hawaii as I've done enough of that through the early part of this year so I'm just concentrating on building a big base and then hitting some speed as I head into Kona.
Look out for me in the latest NZ and Aussie triathlon magazines where I made the front cover. I'll let you know how the training is going over the coming weeks.
Kind Regards
Cameron Brown
Good Luck Cam!
