2XU'S Peter Taylor beats world champ at Twizel!
Kiwi Peter Taylor claimed victory in the lightweight single scull race in last month’s 2011 BankLink New Zealand Rowing Championships. The titles held at Lake Ruataniwha Twizel, saw New Zealand's finest rowers perform some great racing in the finals.
In an extremely close race, 25 year old Taylor produced a great row to beat three time world champion Duncan Grant by just one boat length with Todd Petherick finishing third . Originally from Wellington, Peter is based with the Rowing NZ high-performance academy at Lake Karapiro, Cambridge and looks to have a busy year ahead.
Fantastic work Peter!
