2XU hits the sand as Official Team Wear Partner of Pro Beach Volleyball!
Australia’s top beach volleyball players are set to multiply their training and competition performances ahead of London 2012 thanks to support from 2XU. Find out all about the newly launched Renault Competition in Australia too.
Beach volleyball in Australia is set for a significant growth with the launch of the new professional Renault competition in Australia. The nation’s best players have received a welcome boost for their Olympic preparations and will now be kitted our by 2XU!
Expected to draw many of the sport’s best athletes from Australia and overseas, the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) sanctioned Series will be played over eight rounds at many of the country’s most iconic beaches including Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast, Manly (NSW), St Kilda (Vic), Glenelg (SA), Scarborough (WA) and Nobby’s Beach in Newcastle.
Round 1 started on 11 November 2011 at Nobby’s Beach, while the final day of competition in Round 8 is on 1 April 2012 at Sydney’s Manly Beach.

2XU Ambassador and Olympic gold medalist Natalie Cook has already confirmed her participation, as have Australia’s former Junior World Champion Mariafe Artacho del Solar, Olympic teams from The Netherlands, and dozens of the best players from across Australia.
Cook said the Renault NBVS will be an ideal competition to launch her bid to compete in an unprecedented fifth Olympic Games.
“It is an exciting time for Beach Volleyball in Australia, to be back on the Aussie beaches around the country is important not only to the athletes as we prepare for London 2012, but for the aussie sports culture. The sport continues to grow with lots of young kids wanting to play our sport, and the RNBVS will provide role models and the pathway for them to do so, Cook said.”
Ending a four year absence of professional beach volleyball in Australia, the Renault National Beach Volleyball Series will include both men’s and women’s teams with 500,000 people expected to come into contact with the stadium, courts and entertainment precincts over the series extended 50 days on the beaches this summer.
