2XU's Cam Brown gears up for Kona 2011!
Its less than a month until 2XU Ambassador and Ironman Cam Brown arrives on the island of Kona ready to tackle the 2011 Hawaiian Ironman World Championships! The October 8 event is regarded as the most honored and prestigious triathlon event to win worldwide and Cam is now in the final stages of preparing his assault on the revered course.
Cam checks in with Team 2XU ahead of the big race:
Well we are down to the final four weeks before the Hawaii Ironman World Championships on October 8th and I've had some solid training weeks since the Philippines 70.3 Half Ironman. The weather here in New Zealand has been pretty good with the last week being incredible, lucky it has come just at the right time as New Zealand hosts the Rugby World Cup for the 2nd time! We won the previous Cup and the first World Cup back in 1987, so the nation has it's fingers crossed the All Blacks go well!
I will be in New Zealand right up until race week, a first for me but I always enjoy training at home, sleeping in my own bed and eating our great Kiwi kai(food)!
I'll be in touch soon. Hope the weather behaves for another 3 weeks.
